Envirofest
What is Todd County Enviro Fest?
Soil and Water’s big event that targets our youth is called Enviro Fest. Enviro Fest is an event for students to learn about conservation.
The first Enviro Fest for Todd County 6th Graders was in 1995 and the event has been happening each year since, except in 2020 due to COVID
Since 1995, over 4,400 students have attended this event, and we if include teachers, presenters and other volunteers, we would be around of 5,500 people that have been part of the event in some way.
Each year we have between 20-25 different stations for the students to attend. The students get to 7 different stations throughout the day, each station is 25 minutes long, except the Science Museum which is a (1) hour long presentation.
Examples of stations include: Furs and Trapping, Aquatic Invasive Species, Soil texturing, invertebrates, mining, forestry, DNR Wall of Shame, topography, safety demonstration from the Sheriff Department along with a drone demonstration and the most favorite, a horse drawn hay ride to learn about the farming. A corn maze has been a new hit for the event.
2025 we will be celebrating year #30. This event is made possible with our local sponsors such as lion clubs, banks and other organizations.
