The Todd County Sheriff’s Office is committed to a professional level of Law Enforcement which will ensure the safety of our citizens, the prevention and investigation of criminal activity, and a cooperative working relationship with other Departments and Services.

Administration

The Chief Deputy, Jail Administrator, Dispatch Supervisor, Records Supervisor, and Office Support staff assists the Sheriff in executing the duties of the Office.

Investigation and Patrol

The most visible component of the Sheriff’s Office is the Patrol Division which consists of two Patrol Sergeants, twelve full-time Deputy Sheriff’s, two full-time Court Security Deputy and five part-time Deputy Sheriff’s.  The Patrol Division is responsible for patrolling the County and contract cities, answering citizen complaints, enforcing traffic laws, accident investigations, and responding to emergency calls for service. The Deputies also serve civil process papers as assigned.

There are three general Investigator with the Todd County Sheriff’s Office who investigate major crimes in the County.  There is also one Deputy assigned to the West Central Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force which has representatives from Todd County, Wadena County, Ottertail County, Douglas County , Alexandria Police Department, Becker County, and Detroit Lakes Police Department.
