Todd County’s Government Structure
Board of Commissioners
Todd County’s government structure begins with the County Board of Commissioners. The Board of Commissioners is the governing body for the county. The five commissioners represent the citizens within their district.
County Commissioners address citizen concerns, oversee county activities and operations, and help make sure that we fulfill all federal and state requirements.
The Board of Commissioners meets twice a month, on the first and third Tuesdays at 9:00 a.m. There are occasions where the schedule changes, and these changes are posted online and within the courthouse posting locations. Meetings are open to the public. The agenda is available online for each upcoming meeting. Meetings are held in the Commissioners Board Room in the upper level of the Historic Courthouse located in Long Prairie, MN.
The complete board minutes are published after every meeting. These take some time to process and approve, but you can generally find them online within three weeks of the meeting.
