Emergency Management

Creating a resilient Todd County – to prepare, respond and recover.

Todd County Emergency Management is the managerial function charged within the county to create the framework within which communities reduce vulnerability to hazards and cope with disasters. Emergency Management seeks to promote safer, less vulnerable communities with the capacity to cope with hazards and disasters.

Emergency Management protects communities by coordinating and integrating all activities necessary to build, sustain, and improve the capability to mitigate against, prepare for, respond to, and recover from threatened or actual natural disasters, acts of terrorism, or other man-made disasters.

Todd County Emergency Management is responsible for development of community-based plans and programs to maintain a state of readiness to meet natural, man-made, and technological disasters on a local or countywide basis.  Todd County Emergency Management also coordinates and maintains inventories of disaster resources in the county, both public and private, as well as plans for the effective utilization of resources in the county with the assistance of designated county Emergency Management staff, appointed municipal directors, and volunteers.
