Administration
The Administration Services Division supports both the internal operations of Todd County and the needs of the public. This division encompasses Human Resources, Facilities, Management Information Systems, and Emergency Management. Committed to excellence, Administration Services strives to deliver high-quality customer service to current employees, job seekers, and all those interacting with Todd County government.
Assessor
The Todd County Assessor’s Office determines the estimated market value and classification of real and personal property for property tax purposes.
Auditor/Treasurer
The Auditor-Treasurer’s Office is the gateway to the County’s official board, financial, property tax and voter registration records.
Community Corrections
Todd-Wadena Community Corrections operates under a Joint Powers Agreement between Todd and Wadena Counties. Our mission statement is, “Safer communities, every day, through evidence-based practices.” Our agency provides supervision of adult and juvenile probationers and supervised releasees as well as investigative report writing for the Courts and Department of Corrections. We also provide programming in the areas of juvenile diversion, Sentencing to Service, Pre-Trial Supervision, Domestic Abuse Education, Female-Specific programming, Cognitive Skills, and a variety of other programming aimed at reducing recidivism. Todd-Wadena Community Corrections maintains offices in Long Prairie, Staples, and Wadena.
County Attorney
As the 40th most populous county in Minnesota (out of 87), Todd County has about an even split of folks living in cities and towns versus rural homesteads and lake properties. With plants and factories and farms and a variety of small businesses in all corners of Todd County, we see many of the same legal issues in our courtroom as they do down in the cities and in more rural counties – especially with an interstate highway and two U.S. highways crisscrossing our forests, fields and wetlands. The Todd County Attorney’s Office takes pride in keeping our schools and streets safe, working with law enforcement and other stakeholders to help folks stay out of trouble, and to make Todd County an even better place to live for our kids and grandkids.
Court Administration
Todd County Court Administration handles a range of cases including civil, family, probate, juvenile, criminal, and traffic cases filed in Todd County.

Ditch/Ag Inspector
The Todd County Ditch and Ag Inspector provides administration and maintenance services for the County Ditch Systems, and enforcement of regulations pertaining to noxious weeds, herbicides, pesticides and seed inspection.
Emergency Management
Emergency Management helps communities prepare for, respond to, recover from, and reduce the impact of disasters. Whether it's severe weather, a hazardous materials spill, a power outage, or a large public event, emergency management works behind the scenes to coordinate resources, create emergency plans, support first responders, and keep the public informed and safe. The goal is to protect lives, property, and the environment before, during, and after emergencies.
Health and Human Services
Helping People Through Life’s Challenges
Todd County Health & Human Services’ mission is “People helping people through life’s challenges by maintaining integrity, providing education and sharing skills to empower individuals to their highest possible level of wellness.”
The department works collaboratively across its five units (Children’s Services Unit, Community Health Services Unit, Adult Services Unit, Financial Support Services and the Accounting Unit) to ensure our residents basic needs are met. Health & Human Services staff promote the dignity, safety and rights of our clients and strive to assist each client to attain self-sufficiency within their individual capabilities.
The department promotes public accountability and trust through responsible use of available resources. The HHS department is overseen by the Todd County Board of Commissioners. In addition, Health & Human Services is a member of a three-county Community Health Board with Morrison and Wadena Counties and is governed by a Joint Powers Agreement.
Planning and Zoning
Planning and Zoning is responsible for the implementation of the Planning and Zoning Ordinance to ensure the Health, Safety, and Welfare of the general public.
Public Works
The Todd County Public Works Department is responsible for the maintenance and construction of the County Highway System which includes around 621 miles of roadway and 92 bridges.

Soil and Water Conservation District
Todd Soil and Water Conservation District is a political subdivision of the State of Minnesota. The Soil and Water Office services County citizens through technical assistance, cost sharing, and education on a large variety of natural resource related programs.

Todd County Development Corporation
University of Minnesota Extension
Todd County Extension, the local educational outreach of the University of Minnesota, provides research-based education and information in areas of Youth and 4-H, Agriculture, and Horticulture. Extension works in partnership with other public and private entities to build the capacity of individuals and communities to address issues related to needs and goals.
