SBA Disaster Assistance Available for Todd County Businesses and Nonprofits

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has announced that low-interest federal disaster loans are available to eligible businesses and private nonprofit organizations in Todd County impacted by drought conditions beginning June 9, 2026.

Who May Apply

Eligible applicants include:

  • Small businesses

  • Private nonprofit and faith-based organizations

  • Small agricultural cooperatives and nurseries

  • Small aquaculture enterprises

Economic Injury Disaster Loans

The SBA’s Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) program provides working capital to help eligible organizations meet ordinary and necessary financial obligations that cannot be met because of the drought.

Loan assistance may be used for operating expenses and other financial obligations affected by the disaster.

Loan Details

  • Up to $2 million in loan assistance

  • Interest rates as low as 4% for small businesses

  • Interest rates as low as 3.625% for private nonprofit organizations

  • Loan terms of up to 30 years

  • No interest or required payments for the first 12 months following the initial loan disbursement

Loan amounts and terms are determined by the SBA based on each applicant’s financial condition.

Application Deadline

Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) Deadline: June 1, 2027

Businesses and nonprofit organizations are encouraged to apply as soon as possible and should not wait until the deadline.
